2021 On July 23–24, the park of Kamariškės manor sounded from the hustle and bustle of chainsaws. Participants of the children's summer camp initiated by the Public Institution Inovatorių slėnis, together with the camp leaders, experts of the Public Institution Wetlands Restoration and Protection Fund and other volunteers, took part in the help for the management of the Kamariškės manor park environment. For more than half a century the manor has been left to its fate: abandoned manor houses have disappeared, an unmaintained park has been overgrown with threshing trees, trees and other inferior vegetation, old ponds are covered with virtuoso trees or tree branches, and "flowering water" and the eutrophication of ponds, so they have long lost the image of attractive water bodies ...
The helpers cleaned the environment of the abandoned park: adults, armed with saws and brushcutters, cut bushes and shrubs, and the young helpers loaded branches and firewood into separate piles and collected rubbish. It will take a lot of time and effort to tidy up the whole park and restore the dilapidated buildings, and it is definitely worthwhile for the manor to start cooking again. It is hoped that the gradually reviving manor will become a space of cultural landscape and living, open to artistic creation, spiritual refreshment, as well as physical recreation and knowledge of nature.
The helpers dined by the campfire, not forgetting the fun of the dance rhythm.
The initiative and funds of the international project “Improvement of ecological conditions of water bodies in Latvia and Lithuania” LLI-476 Save Past for the Future (LLI-476 Save the Past) took place in Kamariškės Manor Park.
