ABOUT US

Foundation for Peatlands Restoration and Conservation is a non-profit nature protection organization that protects, restores and takes care of sustainable use and education of peatlands and other ecosystems.

The founders and members of the organization are peatland scientists and  restoration specialists with many years of experience in various nature management projects in the field of biodiversity conservation, habitat restoration, climate change, agricultural policy, and innovative  solutions.

 

The organization is assisted by an advisory council consisting of Lithuanian and EU experts in the field of peatland restoration and conservation.

MISSION

Restoration and protection of antropogenically damaged drained peatlands and other ecosystems solving the biodiversity and climate crisis, finding new pathways in the usage of peatlands in sustainable agriculture and forestry.

KRISTINA DAPKŪNIENĖ

ECOLOGIST, ENVIRONMENTALIST,

PROJECT MANAGER

Since completing her studies at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of Vilnius University, she has worked in the environmental field, both in the non-governmental sector and in public institutions. Kristina has extensive experience in water management and protection, sustainable consumption, project management, and public education on environmental issues.
